Go, Tell the World

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Mark 16:9-20; Acts 1- 2

In light of today's reading, this is the perfect time to stir our heart and consider again the wonderful gift we have in salvation.  Think back to when you asked Jesus into your heart.  For me, knowing that my sins were forgiven and the feeling of being right with Him was something I will never forget! Every single person has this same need - the need to be forgiven of their sin.

Jesus gave a final command as He ascended into heaven; that we would share Him with the world.

And He [Jesus] said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15-20

And here is that message...

We have All sinned

  • We have broken God's law; we are all sinners. (Isa. 53:6; Ecl. 7:20; Rom. 3:23)

  • No one is righteous or able to live sinless. (Rom. 3:10)

  • The wages of that sin is death. (Rom. 6:23)
As a result of our sin, we owe a penalty we cannot pay. (Isa. 52:3, 64:6; Rom. 3:20-23; Gal.3:11)

But there is HOPE

  • The Bible tells us that God laid down His position in heaven to become a man (yet remaining God) so that He might live among us and serve us by dying for us. (Phil. 2:6-8)

  • God Almighty showed unspeakable mercy toward us in that while we were sinners, God loved us so much that he sent His only son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for us! (Rom 5:8-10, Rom. 4:25, 5:9; Gal. 2:16, 3:13; Titus 2:14)

Jesus took our place

  • Jesus bore our sin on the cross. (I Pet. 2:24)

  • Jesus rose again, proving He was indeed the Son of God. He conquered sin and death. (I Cor. 15:3-4)

This is GOOD NEWS

  • Salvation is available to all who come to Jesus. (Jn 6:37)

  • "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." (Acts 16:30-31)

  • Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (Jn 11:25; Acts 10:43; Rom 10:9)

  • He who believes in Jesus has everlasting LIFE. (Jn 5:24)

  • If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (IJn 1:9)

  • Acts 3:19 tells us to repent. Repenting does not only mean apologizing for your sin, it means turning from them.

Rejoice! He makes all things new.

  • Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Cor. 5:17)

What a privilege it is to be the people who get to tell such wonderful news!
