Today’s Bible Reading: Luke 17:20-18:14; John 7
"But God is my King from long ago; He brings salvation on the earth." Psalm 74:12
Indeed God did bring salvation on the earth! Humbling Himself, He became a man to die and pay the price we owed. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist in Psalm 74 writes of the coming Redeemer. Hundreds of years later, John the Baptist would proclaim our Redeemer's entrance with a glorious introduction: "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" Jn 1:29
Truly God brought salvation on the earth and showed us His unfailing love! (Ps. 85:7)
In today’s reading, Jesus gives us a precious picture of God’s forgiveness in the Parable of Prodigal Son. God stands as the loving Father, arms stretched open ready to receive His children. It begins with us, like the son, willing to humble ourselves, return home and ask for forgiveness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 Jn 1:9
Take time today and every day to confess sin before the Lord and ask His forgiveness. He provided the remedy for our sin with His own blood; so let's confess and let His precious provision wash us clean.
