Today’s Bible Reading: Jeremiah 46; Daniel 1-2

Today we start the book of Daniel. I love this book for the simple fact that Daniel sought the Lord and God answered him! Daniel asked for wisdom and God gave it; he asked for interpretations and God gave them; he asked for insight and God opened his eyes; he asked for favor with the king and God gave it.

Do you know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Just as God answered Daniel, He answers us. He promises to give us wisdom when we ask and answer when we call.

Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and settles up kings: He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He reveals the deep and secret things: He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:20-22

Talk about a situation where wisdom was needed! Daniel was in a dire situation, and God imparted wisdom and understanding.

Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king; But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets…Daniel 2:27, 28

Truly there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets. He holds all wisdom and knowledge. Ask Him to open your eyes and impart wisdom to your heart.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
