Watchmen

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Ezekiel 32-33

“…I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.” Ezekiel 33:7 NKJV

Have you ever awakened from a nightmare in a cold sweat, breathing heavy, and the second you realized it was a dream, there’s sudden relief? I sure have! As a young adult I had a recurring nightmare of just this sort. The setting was usually somewhere dark and spooky and I was always with a group of people that was totally oblivious to the approaching danger. I would try to warn whoever I was with but they just wouldn’t listen. Needless to say, the danger kept coming our way and like I said, I’d wake up with a start and a pounding heart. I laugh (sort of) at that nightmare now, but it was terrifying at the time, no doubt!
