Oh, His Word!

Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Mark 13:24-37; Matthew 24:29- 25:30; Luke 21:25-38; Luke 19:11-27

Knowing, studying, meditating on, and loving God’s Word matters! 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. God's Word is just that - God's Words. Well, when considered in that light, who wouldn't want to know what God Himself has to say.

Think of this, God's words are so powerful that He spoke and all of creation was brought into existence. His words are just as powerful in our individual lives! Through His written Word, He brings the dead to life (Col 2:13); sanctifies and cleanses the polluted mind (Ps 119:9); gives direction to the lost (Ps 119:105); fills the hopeless with everlasting hope (Rm 15:13); and gives peace that passes understanding (Phil 4:7).

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

God’s Word is complete, not lacking anything. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His Word is constant, consistent, and enduring.

If something has to be left undone today - don't let it be time spent in His Word!
