A Master Plan

Today's Through the Bible Reading: 1 Kings 7:13-8:21; 2 Chronicles 4 - 5

“…for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.” 2 Chronicles 5:14

In today’s reading we find Solomon carefully constructing the temple with great detail according to God's precise instructions. Through this description we see how God cares about details. And what God builds - He builds oh so beautifully.

“He hath made everything beautiful in His time…” Ecclesiastes 3:11

God had a plan with great purpose in giving Israel such precise instructions to follow for the temple. You see, it was to be a picture of our relationship with Him and a shadow of what God would accomplish thousands of years later through His Son, Jesus. And here is where we can take great encouragement. For you see, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever – He cared about the details then and He cares about the details now. As Christian’s we are His sanctuary, a living temple. He is building, instructing, and has a plan with great purpose!

“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5 NKJV

God gave Solomon a blue print to follow and He has given us instructions through His Word. Solomon followed God’s plan and it all pointed to Jesus – a glorious outcome. What are the details God is laying on your heart today? Following His Word and those things which the Spirit lays on your heart lead to magnificent beauty.
