A Beautiful Bride
Today’s Through the Bible Reading: Isaiah 43 - 46
"Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee…” Isaiah 43:4
Our Lord loves His people like a groom loves his bride. And like a groom watching his bride walk down the aisle, His eyes are fixed on the one He has chosen. And don’t you know, dear Christian, that God created love and marriage between a man and a woman to do just that – to paint a powerful picture of His love for us (see Eph. 5). The Bible makes it oh, so clear that He is the bridegroom and we are His bride. As you read today's reading, realize you are getting a glimpse into God's heart for His bride and it begins with redemption and restoration as He lavishes us with love and a future filled with hope.
Take special note today of how God sees you:
You are His (Isa. 43:1; 1 John 4:4);
You are precious in His sight (Isa. 43:4; Matt. 13:45-46);
Because of Christ, you are honorable (Isa. 43:4; Eph. 5:27);
You are chose you (Isa. 43:10; Rom. 8:30);
You are loved (Isa. 43:4; John 15:9).
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.” Isaiah 43:1
It’s all about Jesus! Even here in the Old Testament, as God spoke to His people – it was looking forward to His plan of Salvation. In Christ, we are made righteous and He is coming again to take us home to be His eternal, perfect, spotless bride.
