Today’s Bible Reading: Mark 8:11- 9:1; Matt. 16:1-28; Luke 9:18-27; John 6:60-71
Jesus brings life. We were born into sin which brings death, but Jesus conquered both. Through His blood, we are more than conquerors. Accepting Him as Lord and Savior, we are new creations, reborn, renewed, and restored!
Life without Jesus leaves us defeated, ruled by sin, destine to death. Truly, this reality causes us to echo what Peter said to Jesus in today’s Bible reading:
Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. John 6:68, 69
Cling to Jesus, walk close to Him, feast on His Word and rejoice that He has given us new life.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:34-36
