Today’s Bible Reading: Mark 15:6-21; Luke 23:13-32; John 18:39 – 19:17; Matthew 27:27-32
Few things can refresh our soul and renew our perspective like reflecting on our Salvation. Let's consider again the greatness of God's love in sending His one and only Son.
It was impossible for us to live up to God’s standard. We all sinned and fell short of God’s glory (Isa 53:6; Ecc 7:20; Rom 3:10, 23). It was impossible for us to make up for our short coming and redeem ourselves (Jas 2:10). It was impossible for us to earn eternal life by our own efforts (Rom 6:23). So, what is impossible for man, is possible with God. What was impossible for us to accomplish, Jesus did for us on the cross.
God Himself redeemed us! We've been purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ (1 Pt 1:18, 19); forgiven of all our sins (Col 2:13); justified, the record that detailed our sin has been taken away and we’re declared innocent (Rom 3:24); God has washed us, sanctified us (1 Cor 6:11); He has given us new life (1 Cor 5:17); He has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ (Titus 3:7); He fills us with His Spirit and dwells within us (1 Jn 4:13); He has given us joy for our sadness and filled our heavy hearts with praise (Isa 61:3); He has given us all we need to live life in Him (2 Pt 1:3).
So REJOICE dear Jesus follower! You’ve been shown the greatest love. God Himself made a way for you to have fellowship with Him. What was impossible without Him, is completely possible with Him. We have the greatest gift to focus on each and every day.
