Cover2Cover - November 5

Today’s Bible Reading: Mark 14:43-72; Matthew 26:47-75; Luke 22:47-71; John 18:1-27

Jesus was the complete fulfillment of the Old Testament. He was and is the promised Redeemer, the Messiah.

From the time Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden, God promised to send a Redeemer who would provide a remedy for our sinful state (Gen 3:15).  God was faithful to keep His promise and sent His Son (Jn 3:16). If you've been reading along Cover2Cover, then you've seen from Genesis to Malachi hundreds of promises regarding a coming Redeemer who would restore man’s fellowship with God.  There are shadows and pictures woven throughout the lives and stories of the Old Testament. From generation to generation, God’s people looked forward to the promised Messiah.  Now He stands in the Garden of  Gethsemane being betrayed by one of His disciples and responds to His accusers “I AM.” (Jn 18:5)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Because The Great I Am became a man, humbled Himself and died on the cross, we can find forgiveness. He paid the penalty we owed. God was faithful to His promises and provided a remedy for our sin, He provided Himself.

So REJOICE Christian! You've been shown the greatest love. Jesus laid down His life so you could Live. God Himself made a way for you to have fellowship with Him.
