Today's Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 5-8; Psalm 45; 1 Kings 5:1-12; 2 Chronicles 2:1-16

Abbreviated / Highlights: Song of Solomon 5-8

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Today’s reading may be in the Old Testament, but it’s full of examples of Jesus’ compassion and God’s great love for us. Like the bridegroom in the Song of Solomon, our precious Jesus pursues us – His bride. He pursues the sinner and prunes the righteous all out of His love and for our good.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Let's stir our hearts and remember this today... Jesus loved us and paid the penalty for us (Rom 4:25, 5:9; Gal 2:16, 3:13; Titus 2:14). Believing in Jesus as our Savior, we receive salvation (Acts 4:12; Rom 10:9, 10). God forgives us, declaring us not guilty of the sin we committed (Isa 61:10; Acts 13:39; Rom 3:24-26). We can stand guiltless before God because of Jesus!

We are his spotless bride.
