Today’s Bible Reading: Acts 28:11-31; Ephesians 1:1-3:21
“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”(Ephesians 1:7) A word study on Redeemed will reveal yet another level of God's love and the price that was paid to reveal that love to us.
Redeemed means = To release upon payment of a ransom. As believers in Jesus Christ we have been Redeemed. (Col 1:14)
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will REDEEM them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction... Hosea 13:14
The promise of this redemption was spoken of throughout the Old Testament and was fulfilled through Jesus’ death and resurrection. We have been Redeemed by Jesus' blood, Forgiven by His grace, Justified by His righteousness, and are being Sanctified through His Spirit and Word.
So let's not neglect His Word during this busy holiday season. Let's dig in, feast on the Living Bread, drink from the Living Waters and be transformed by the renewing of our mind.
